That is that as an employee you are responsible for your safety and the safety of others. You should not allow others to knowingly proceed into danger.
You should cooperate with your employer on all matters related to safety and you should report all identified hazards.
This area of knowledge works in conjunction with vessel Safety Management Systems Operational Procedures, AMSA GSD's Part E of the National Standards for Commercial Vessels which require a risk assessment for all activities.
It is extremely important that at a GPH level you should follow all established safe work practices and procedures. As a Coxswain (Master) you are the Supervisor of the workplace (vessel).
